Each and every year for the past 5 years, I have braved the crowds on the biggest shopping day of the year…Black Friday, that is! Shopping the stores on Black Friday takes me back to the days when I was younger and I was a professed “shopaholic” without a care in the world about how much I spent on a day to day basis. Now, I am a “smart shopaholic!” This year was different, I had a new shopping partner in crime that had never braved the stores before. My sister-in-law was in town visiting and off to the stores we raced! It was the funniest Black Friday shopping experience I have had in years. When delirium set in…the fun really began!

Our morning began with my hubs driving around town looking for a sales ad so that we would be 100% prepared (even though we could have looked online for the ads). (Read More)

Sifting through Black Friday ads and Wal-Mart Black Friday ad online. There are no words to describe the spectacle of our local WalMart parking lot on Thanksgiving night. They started their Black Friday sales at 10 pm that night. Apparently, it worked out well for them. Our community of around 6000 citizens filled the parking lot, every single space and then began parallel parking around the outer perimeter of the parking lot. When there was no room to do that any more, people parked their cars in the grass around the parking lot.

My daughter and son-in-law immediately went to the back of the store where the shrink-wrapped display of kids’ bikes were ready for the 10 o’clock starting bell. Notice that there was also another mom who already had her hand on a box to ensure she would get one when the sale started. (Read More)

Black Friday Shopping. There’s not a whole lot that I’m looking for, so it should be easy to find everything on my list, right? Now that I have 2 whole things on my shopping list, it’s time to get to work. I don’t even bother looking through the paper ads - I look through all the sale ads online. I used http://bfads.net to look through the Black Friday ads ahead of time. They have the ads for every store here along with thumbnail pictures of each item that’s on sale and store opening times.

On Black Friday morning, Daddy decided to go hunting, so I took the kids with me. Consequently, we didn’t get a very early start! We were at our massively huge Big Kmart (I’m joking about the massively huge part.) (Read More)

Black Friday came and we decided to go to Walmart to see the offers. Emily didn’t want to leave the Christmas section. Abuelita and Emily wanted to test everything we saw. One of the offers that most caught our attention: a bike for only $39. There was only 1 tv left at this price, incredible offer! Sound systems for less than $50. There were 2 computers HP Pavilion. Well we wanted to be up super duper early for Black Friday but life and family sometimes gets in the way and you’re needed to help others out. What else is more important than that? I started my shopping a bit early this year and decided I wanted to do some shopping for my mom who was not feeling well. I was at her house late the night before helping her. I got to Walmart way after the mob of people. I was told the lines were crazy at 10:00pm.

What I totally found impressive is this map they were handing out. This told you where the deals were through out the store. I am like, are you kiddin me? This is awesome. I of course walk straight to the flat screens because I want one for my bedroom. I said I would not put one in there but have changed my mind. (Read More)
