For those of you still voting and awaiting outcomes of the Gas Pedal Super Genius contest we entered with MyBFDeals.com, an update.

Due to lack of early participation, the organizers opted to fill the speaking space on the panel with an invited speaker. We were notified today of the untimely end of the contest. The organizers were kind enough to offer free admission to the event should be be in Chicago and the jury is still out on that one.
We’ve found out that we were included on the original email launching the event but unfortunately, the email canceling the event wasn’t forwarded our way and no further action was taken, that we can tell. We only got the actual scoop after email them to verify the entry was good. This is one of the pitfalls of Social Media and the fast take-off/turn around potential for this type of project. Constant and diligent effort is needed to keep everyone on the same page from start to finish… regardless of lifespan of a project.
We’re not upset other than that we really felt that we would win this and who in their right mind would pass up an occasion to visit Chicago near Christmas? What are your thoughts? Leave them here or at the facebook link above.

Well this is a totally a disappointment. You guys put so much work and effort into it. I am just glad it was NOT all for naught. I mean, I think MANY people still found this project worthwhile and great to follow and learn from. I totally think you all woulda won. Well, I chalk it up to their loss, of not having the 2 best awesomest dudes coming to be on their panel. Kudo’s to YOU BOTH and what a loss on the part of the “super Genius Panel” for not having you be on it

I assumed the header was a dis at my blog… but I am sorry to hear the contest got cancelled at the last minute. What a drag. Sorry to hear about that.
